08.10.15 : devestators
here's some shots of various heavy weapons. mostly these guys are used for devestators, but
in the ten man tac squads, one will make its way in. that long guy is generally used to deter
enemies from getting close. as such, it's not often used to shoot a lot. but still quite
useful.
lately i've been running the devs in a ten-man squad broken up into two fives. within these are
two plasma and three fodder to keep them alive. this allows for plenty of blasts thrown down
with the benefit of being able to shoot at two different targets. the downside is that i roll 1's
like nobodies business. the first time i ran the dev squad this way, i got half of them killed
rolling more "gets hot" than not - literally. it was quite amazing. but playing dark angles, i
feel obligated to support the fluff.

08.10.08 : ezekiel & chappy
ezekiel was the first hq choice i ever painted. he turned out alright for what it was. but later
i busted out the interrogator chaplain. i made a few mistakes on some design choices, but i'll
probably go back and fix them up at a later date.
the chaplain is a fairly cheap attachment to a close combat term squad allowing some sweet sweet
re-rolls to hit. i'm working on a land raider right now, so soon they will pop like candy and kill
just about anything. coupled with belial, they should be quite good. granted that is quite a few
points to spend on one squad - but useful.
ezekiel on the other hand is very expensive... his powers are not terribly special. but he does
do a decent job in assault. since standard librarians for dark angels have such wonderful
leadership (9) that puts them out of sync with just about every other psyker out there. the hood
then becomes even less useful. i enjoy his template attack though. it was even fun getting a
strength 3, ap 1 shot on some marines. but really, he's not all that fantastic when compared to
standard space marine libarians. at least he's pretty?

08.10.06 : ten terminators
here's some shots of the first company. five setup for ranged combat and five for close. the da
do pretty well with these guys. able to mix and match whatever combination desired. using belial
they can even bust out a terminator apothecary and standard bearer. pretty slick.
as for the color i used a slightly modified version from some dude off the net - my apologies for
not remembering. start off with a base coat of vomit brown, then cover that in brown ink. this
should be setup nicely in the creases providing an orange-brown color. then go over in bubonic
brown ensuring the cracks remain the prior color. the next step is what really starts making them
appear to be deathwing. bust out some bleached bone over the majority left - still ensuring that
the orange-brown and bubonic can still be seen. even if only slightly. lastly, to give a little
highlight action, cover some areas with a very light coating of skull white.
i recently picked up five more of these guys. from this next squad i'll bust out the apothecary.
it'll be a while before i get it done, but i'll post pics then.

08.10.05 : dark angels
so about that dark angels army. i just took some shots as i've put the eldar on hold and returned
to my first choice. i sucked it up and ordered a couple more dreads from forgeworld, but while i'm
waiting for those to arrive, check out the standard and vet choices. the vet is equipped with all
default equipment: assault cannon, close combat weapon with storm bolter. i find that works quite
well for most purposes. the flamer would come in handy but for now, just the basic storm bolter is
acceptable. his counterpart is a bit more shooty. twin-linked lascannon coupled with a missile
launcher allowing for a little more range and variety. when the forgeworld dead arrive, i'll be
equipping both of those two with plasma cannons and making them verterans.
